Cultural Media

Our Cultural Media program engages young people to create community films and cultural media projects.

Rare Earth has a Media Bus with video and sound recording gear that provides a mobile classroom to train youth and family groups to use computers and video cameras to create content.

Programs can also be run in collaboration with schools and community groups to produce education resources.

Rare Earth can create a media lab inside existing infrastructure, providing training to youth and staff to continue media projects.

Film Projects could include:

Cooking shows
Stories from our elders
Health education
Gardening films
Numeracy and literacy tools
Music videos

Objectives:

· Provide computers, cameras and media training

· Strengthen culture

· Increase numeracy and literacy

· Develop education resources for the school
